Do-It-Yourself Stenciling & Faux Finishing Classes

Lasting Impressions offers a variety of Stenciling and Faux Finishing classes at our Green Bay, Wisconsin School of Decorative Painting, including this selection of workshops for the Do-it-yourselfer, Homeowner, and hobbyist. All classes are HANDS ON, and most include some supplies.

We also offer Professional Faux Finishing Classes for those finishers ready to take their training to the next level. Faux business and Faux Finish workshops are available in week long classes.

Stencils: An Amazing Decorative Tool - New!!

Learn how to use this amazing tool. Stencils can be used to achieve a hand painted look without any artistic talent. Whether you are looking for free formed designs, borders, random elements, inspirational sayings or all-over wallpaper styles, you can create this with a stencil. Stencil templates are also used to create raised or 3-D effects and even dazzling effects with leaf or metallic paint. Basic stencil designs can take on a whole new personality. With a little shading you can achieve extraordinary results. You'll learn the basics as well as creative ideas to go beyond the ordinary.

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Class Fee: $40 or $35@ in groups of 2 or more.

Faux Foundations

Treat your wall with an elegant alternative to ordinary paint. Designed with the do-it-yourselfer in mind, we'll help you achieve professional results on your first attempt. You'll learn RAGGING, MULTICOLORED MOTTLED EFFECTS, FEATHER DUSTING, COLOR WASHING, NEGATIVE RAGGING and the ever so popular DESIRE' Finish. We'll also show you how to do corners, mix glazes and choose colors.

Time: 6-8:30 p.m.

Class Fee: $35.00 per person or $30.00 per person for groups of 2 or more.

European Textures - New!!

Create the look of old world stone, faux brick or tile and crackle plaster. Learn how foil and texture rollers work to create classic dimensions. Try your hand at 3D reliefs for added dimension. Use these finishes with a color wash for a Tuscan feel or with metallic paint for an upscale elegant effect.

Prerequisite: Faux Foundations

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Class Fee: $65.00 per person or $60.00 per person for groups of 2 or more.

Classic Faux - New!!

Some fashions never seem to go out of style. Same with faux, some techniques are just classics. Included in this class are 5 of the top most classic finishes: tissue paper, Modello™ prontos, lime wash distressing for furniture or moldings and classic dimensions.

Prerequisite: Faux Foundations

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Class Fee: $50 or $45 in groups of 2 or more

Introduction to Italian & Metallic Plasters

We'll introduce you to Venetian plaster, distressed Venetian plaster and Autumn Leaf Applications and Metallic Venetian plaster. The differences between plaster products and topcoats will also be taught.

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Class Fee: $75 or $70 per person in groups of 2 or more.

Choose your Finish

By request we are offering personalized or private classes for basic finishes. Reserve a 2 hour time slot for you and 5 of your friends. We'll plan the class around the finish or finishes that you want to learn. Class fee will be determined by the finish and products needed to complete the class. Dry time may not allow some finishes being completely finished in this time slot. Not all dates may be available. Please call for availability.

Time: 6-8 p.m.

Class Fee: $50- to $75@ Minimum 6 students

Class Policies

Classes are HANDS ON. All materials are supplied. Some classes include take home supplies.
Classes must be paid within one week of registration. Classes not paid in advance will be offered to those waiting for openings. Classes may be paid by cash, check or charge. Credit card will be charged upon registration.
Please wear clothing appropriate to paint in. Bring an old sheet or plastic to protect your car from wet samples.
Children must be at least 12 years old to participate in class. Please don't bring children to class that are not registered as participants.
In case of an emergency, rescheduling is allowed ONE time with a 48 HOUR CANCELATION NOTICE. Last minute cancellations will NOT be refunded or credited toward another class. Wisconsin weather can be unpredictable. Classes are NOT cancelled due to weather except in extreme cases. Weather will be considered when applicable and rescheduling WILL be allowed when necessary. Advanced cancellation notices is appreciated so people on the waiting list have time to find sitters and reschedule.
Please come a few minutes early to get your name tag and check in. All evening classes start promptly at 6 p.m.
